Contest: Name Doug Cox and Linda McRae’s new duo!

OK, let’s get this out of the way right away: I already proposed “Bandy McBandface,” and they didn’t go for it.
But in all seriousness, Doug Cox and Linda McRae have formed a new duo that brings together two giants of the Canadian roots scene. And they need a name for it. “Cox and McRae” isn’t working for them.
So they’ve decided to throw caution to the wind and crow source a name through a contest here at Roots Music Canada.
The people who submit their top three choices will get a copy of their new CD, plus a solo CD from both Linda and Doug and tickets to the next show they do in the winners’ area.
So in the off chance you don’t already know Linda and Doug’s material, here’s a little more about them to help inspire you:
Nashville-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Linda is an alum of Spirit of the West and an accomplished solo artist with a beautifully deep mournful voice who, in recent years, has done some wonderful work teaching songwriting in prisons – work that has produced some beautiful songs and collaborations.
Doug is a dobro-player extraordinaire who has worked with everyone from Ellen McIlwaine to V.M. Bhatt and Long John Baldry. He’s also a record producer, TV and radio host, and the artistic and executive director of the Vancouver Island Music Fest. But above all, he’s an artist with impeccable taste, and these two together make for a monster collaboration.
OK all, you have your assignment.
