Gift patronage is here!

Ever wondered what to buy as a gift for the roots fan who has everything?  How ’bout support for your favourite Canadian roots music web site?  Now you can become a patron of Roots Music Canada and gift that patronage to a friend or loved one (or even someone you dislike.  Why  not??)

Start by visiting our Patreon site by clicking HERE.  Sign up as a Patron in your own name.

Next, email Gordy the Moose at gordy@rootsmusic.ca with the name, address, and email address of the person you are gifting the patronage to.

Gordy will send them this gorgeous postcard to let them know about your generous gift.

If your patronage level qualifies them for perks, he’ll send them their perks too.

Folks, we need your support to keep Roots Music Canada sustainable and thriving long term.

Look, the moose knows it’s tempting to wait for someone else to help, but our community isn’t some massive subculture with thousands of anonymous donors kicking around.  If it was, our artists would be getting covered in the Globe and Mail, and they’re mostly not.

The roots community is a small, tight-knit community, and if we want a home for Canadian roots on the web, a place where popular artists, emerging artists, traditional artists, world artists, cool artists and UNcool artists can all interact with fans, well folks, we need to build that home for ourselves and fund it with our own bucks.

So please kick in what you can.  I know it’s tempting to think that the small amount you can afford won’t help, but you know what?  It absolutely does.  If everyone who likes our Facebook page gave just ONE BUCK a month, we’d be a publishing giant!

Become an organizational patron

If you’re a record label, a publicist, a promoter, a festival artistic director, or anybody else with a whole bunch o’ stuff to promote, please consider becoming an organizational patron of Roots Music Canada.  If you support the site to the tune of $25 or $100 a month, you’ll get your own login and posting privileges here.
