I’ve decided to add a new tradition this year to the Penguin Eggs Critics’ Poll: a playlist of the nominees for New Discovery of the Year. This year, fewer critics voted for a new discovery, and when I went to tally them up, there was almost no overlap. And thus, we have a winner but no runners up. But there was a list of artists deserving of more attention. So please enjoy this opportunity to discover some great new voices.
