Northern Cree

Northern Cree, also known as the Northern Cree Singers, is a powwow and Round Dance drum and singing group, based in Maskwacis, Alberta. Formed in 1982 by the Wood brothers; Steve, Randy, Charlie and Earl Wood of the Saddle Lake Cree Nation, all members originate from the Treaty 6 and are members of the Cree Nation. This multi-Grammy Award nominated group has also been featured at numerous international folk music festivals, sharing the beauty and vitality of their Indigenous culture.

Black Umfolosi

Black Umfolosi formed in 1982 and took their name from a river in South Africa, from where their ancestors can be traced. Anchors Up! with Fortunate Ones, The Once and Old Man Luedecke

The ‘Anchor’s Up Tour’ will feature individual sets of music from three of Atlantic Canada’s most celebrated folk acts as they bring their songs and stories across the country. ?Fortunate Ones? is a JUNO Award-nominated contemporary folk duo from Newfoundland. With lush harmonies rising out of warm acoustic sounds, their latest album,?That Was You and Me?(2022), finds the duo reflecting on life, loss, and hard times, and ultimately choosing love. ?Old Man Luedecke is the recording and performing name of two-time JUNO award winning songwriter Chris Luedecke. Luedecke is well known for his inspired banjo driven stompers, touching guitar ballads and wry storytelling. ?The Once? deliver thoughtful and playful songs soaked with the poetic charm and sunny sadness.
