Jerry Leger & The Situation live in Montreal w/ Li’l Andy!

November 30 @ 9:30 pm - December 1 @ 12:30 am EST
Quai des Brumes, 4481 Saint-Denis
Montreal, H2J 2L2 CA

Jerry Leger & The Situation live in Montreal celebrating the release of 'Time Out For Tomorrow' Doors 9:30pm / $10. Very special guest Li'l Andy. JERRY LEGER & THE SITUATION "Jerry Leger has that spark in him that all the great songwriters have. He's the real deal." - Ron Sexsmith "Time Out for Tomorrow has the compelling stories and great energy that I've come to rely on from this talented and prolific songwriter. Take the time to listen to Jerry Leger!" - Doug Paisley "One of the best Canadian songwriters." - ROLLING STONE "Time Out For Tomorrow is the upcoming album by Jerry Leger and the 3rd in a row that I've had the pleasure of producing. In my opinion it's the most precise example of his craft and vision so far. It's lean, mean and a beautiful collection of songs and sounds." - Michael Timmins, producer of Time Out For Tomorrow and founding member of Cowboy Junkies. Time Out For Tomorrow continues Jerry Leger’s run of consistently high output and displays the finely honed artistic vision that has been evident since 2005 when, at age 19, he released the first of nine studio albums, along with three more with his side projects The Del-Fi’s and The Bop-Fi’s. It’s added up to a body of work that was recently celebrated with the European-only compilation Too Broke To Die, aimed at Leger’s growing fan base in Britain and the EU. Most of those listeners didn’t discover Leger until his 2014 album Early Riser, his first with Michael Timmins of Cowboy Junkies handling production duties, as well as the first to be released on the Junkies’ label, Latent Recordings. The combination of Timmins’ capture-the-moment production aesthetic and the Rolling Thunder-esque chemistry of Leger’s longtime band The Situation (plus a few special guests) now appears unbeatable. And although Time Out For Tomorrow may not be as expansive as Leger’s previous Timmins-produced effort, the acclaimed 2017 double album Nonsense And Heartache, its more concentrated dose of everything Leger does best is just as potent. Songwriters such as Ron Sexsmith, Doug Paisley and outlets such as Rolling Stone, PopMatters and the Toronto Star have sung Leger’s praises. He’s also shared stages with The Sadies, Justin Townes Earle, Deer Tick, Tift Merritt, Dawes, and others. Leger also recently played the small but mighty Take Root Fest in Groningen, alongside Father John Misty, Kurt Vile, Neko Case, Shakey Graves, Alejandro Escovedo and more. https://youtu.be/7isuhzkF5Gc

Toronto, M6K1T9 CA

A benefit for Sunnybrook's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Dear Friends, Please bring friends and family to help us celebrate the holiday season with our 9th annual joyous singalong! Chris Murphy (Sloan Music and TUNS) and Rob Cowan (@Elsa's Dad) will lead us in singing our old and new seasonal favourites! We will be collecting donations for the NICU at Sunnybrook Hospital where our daughter Elsa spent her first 5 months and received outstanding care for which we are eternally grateful. There will be up to 37 babies in the unit over the holidays and we want to let these families know that people are thinking about them. While we will appreciate any donations you are able to make, your presence is what we are hoping for! If you are unable to attend, but would like to donate you can send an etransfer to stefmendoza123@gmail.com. Thanks, Stefanie, Rob and Elsa What will your donation go towards? This year we will be raising money to create emergency support packages for some of the families who have babies in the NICU. On top of the emotional toll of having a child in the hospital, some families have the added burden of a financial crisis and are struggling to pay for parking or ttc to visit their baby. Even buying the basics such as groceries can be a struggle due to the unexpected and prolonged hospital stay. If you'd like to see what families may experience in the NICU check out our vimeo of Elsa's first year. https://vimeo.com/3746830

Chloë joined on keys and vocals a month later. Side Hustle released their first single in January 2018 entitled ‘This’ll Never Seem Real’. Alex Pangman + Colonel Tom Parker Although Alex Pangman grew up a couple of generations late to have sung with Teddy Wilson, the vibrant young vocalist is proud to be known as Canada’s Sweetheart of Swing. With pipes aplenty, Juno nominee Pangman possesses the requisite taste, talent and the historical knowledge of an avid record collector to breathe new life into the sturdy standards of the classic jazz era.   Tom Parker is a Toronto-based traditional country music singer, songwriter, educator and instrumentalist. He has led a number of bands, recorded 5 albums of old-time and “classic” country music, both acoustic and electric, and currently leads the honky tonk group Colonel Tom & the American Pour.   Alex and Tom will be performing as a dynamic duo.
