It’s coming up on a year since Vancouver’s Graham Brown Band released the album Outside Within, the latest addition to their impressive catalogue and another showcase for Graham’s incendiary guitar playing. However, the band’s more mellow side is revealed in the new single “Tell The World,” and Roots Music Canada is proud to exclusively premiere the video.
Graham said, “It’s basically a song about believing in yourself, believing that you are worth it, and standing up for your beliefs even when the doubts creep in during the quiet hours. And that we are all stronger together if we help others do the same. The inspiration to write the song came to me when I had a moment of doubt, then I kinda went, I got this and I feel strong. Come along for the ride and sing it loud and clear.”
As on previous Graham Brown Band albums, Outside Within was captured live in the studio, this time at Hipposonic in Vancouver where the bulk of its 12 songs were remarkably laid down in a single Saturday afternoon. As usual, Brown is backed by guitarist/keyboardist Rob Blackburn, bassist John Werner and drummer Mark Gruft, and throughout the album it’s clear that the band is firing on all cylinders and having a blast doing it.
