Nominees for the 2024 Juno Awards were announced at a news conference in Toronto at 11 a.m. on Tuesday morning — and there’s exciting news for both veteran and emerging artists.

James Keelaghan has received his first Juno nod since 2008, when he was nominated for his duo project Compadres, with Oscar Lopez.

Montreal roots veteran Michael Jerome Browne is nominated once again in the blues category, and Julian Taylor has scored another nomination for Contemporary Roots Album of the Year.

Meanwhile, emerging artist Aysanabee is up for THREE awards for his sophomore album, Here and Now: Contemporary Indigenous Artist or Group of the Year; Alternative Album of the Year and Songwriter of the Year.

And Shawnee Kish, also nominated in the contemporary Indigenous category, scored a second nod for Adult Alternative Album of the Year.
