3 holiday shows at Hugh’s Room in Toronto starting this week

0

It’s the time of year when holiday concerts are upon us, and there are several great ones coming up at Hugh’s Room in Toronto.

The favourite Toronto venue settled into a new home this spring after living a nomadic existince for more than two years; it had vacated its former home due to an inability to agree on new lease terms.

Since the start of the fall, it’s been announcing a steady stream of promising-sounding concerts — though, head up, the venue is not yet fully accessible.

These holiday shows are on that list. Here’s what’s coming up.

Susan Aglukark – Dec. 6

Canada’s trailblazing Inuk artist has had a remarkable career spanning over 25 years. Her journey as a singer-songwriter has been a poignant exploration of her identity and heritage and has led to her becoming an Officer of the Order of Canada. Upinnaq Christmas will transport you into the heart of Inuit culture, a journey deeply rooted in history and ancestral wisdom. It is a unique blend of music, reflection, and storytelling—an opportunity to connect with the rich tapestry of Inuit heritage that has shaped Susan’s music and soul.
