The BreakOut West conference and music festival took place in Kelowna BC this month and saw the Western Canadian Music Awards (WCMA) handed out to this year’s outstanding musicians from western Canada.
The conference spanned five days, while the accompanying festival lasted over the course of three nights. Western Canadian, pan-Canadian and international artists made up the festival lineup, all-in-all totaling over 50 performances.
The event saw a number of hometown heroes made, with 11 of the 21 WCMA awards going to BC artists.
