Kyle McKearney releases poignant new single “River Rain”

It’s been a whirlwind summer so far for Kyle McKearney, between having his debut LP Down-Home being nominated for Alternative Country Album of the Year for the upcoming Canadian Country Music Awards and touring with top-selling U.S. artist Kip Moore, among other highlights.
Still, the Calgary-based Metis singer-songwriter has found time to write and record new material earmarked for the follow-up to Down-Home. Today, Kyle shares his latest effort, “River Rain,” a poignant, acoustic track that celebrates family, in the same spirit as his single from May, “Grandfather.”
Kyle said of “River Rain,” “I wrote this song with the idea that if anything should ever happen to me, my wife and kids would have these words to listen to and remember how important they are.”
That’s certainly evident in the chorus, containing lines that any kid would cherish upon hearing their father speak them: “Forever thank my lucky stars though I’ll never understand, what I did to deserve to be your dad.”
As Kyle continues to rack up accolades for Down-Home, including over one million global streams and being named a semi-finalist in SiriusXM’s 2022 Top of the Country competition, his new material is clearly showing the kind of growth and maturity that is sure to keep his fan base increasing. “River Rain” is available now on all digital platforms, and you can catch Kyle live in B.C. and Alberta over the next few weeks.
