Last chance to apply for this sweet central Ontario artist retreat

How would you like to spend 10-12 days in a cottage on a secluded island doing nothing but working on your art – and for nothing more than the cost of getting yourself there and feeding yourself?

Well, you could – but you’ll have to act fast.  Applications for the 2020 Hall’s Island Artist Residency close on Wednesday.

Hall’s Island is located in the Haliburton Highlands of Ontario. It is off-grid and rustic but has sufficient power to provide for your basic needs. It will not, however, support projects requiring major power usage (read: no power tools).

Transportation to and from the island is provided, though you’ll need to get yourself to the area.

The residency was launched in 2019 due to the generosity of a local family who wanted to share the beauty of the island with creative people who need a place of inspiration. HIAR is a member of the Haliburton County Community Cooperative, a not-for-profit organization that encourages, develops and supports several entrepreneurial community groups in the Haliburton Highlands.

Artists of all disciplines are welcome to apply, and yes, that includes musicians and songwriters.
