This week on The Open Chord – Bill Garrett features music from all points of the compass, but perhaps with a little more from the British Isles than usual. From Scotland, Karine Polwart, from Britain, the Unthanks and Red Shoes and from the Emerald Isle some deep down celtic sounds from Nuala Kennedy. Also on today’s show brand new music from James Gordon and some new old time music from the Carolina Chocolate Drops.  11:00 AM, 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM EST on rtds.ca

Corin Raymond with Andy Frank

You’ve all heard of The Great Canadian Tire Money Caper starring Corin Raymond. Well the double CD – and 144 page booklet – that he promised to produce with Canadian Tire cash, is now born. So this week on The Andy Frank Show, we feature an extensive interview with Corin Raymond, and play a dozen tracks off the album.

Andy and Corin talk about The Caper, the press coverage, the meaning Canadian Tire money has to many Canadians, the hundreds of related packages he’s received in the mail, the “small time” artists’ songs he and his band The Sundowners cover, the famous Chicken Toss, and a whole lot more. 9:00 AM, 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM EST on rtds.ca

Damn you Andy and Corin! Loved the show but two hours of grinning from ear to ear, though enjoyable, is going to take me a few days to recover from. My face hurts.
