Roots Radio Thursday on RTDS – Jan 3, 2013
Happy New Year, and thanks for listening to Roots Radio Thursday on rtds.ca. Coming up this week:
The Andy Frank Show welcomes in-studio guest Jory Nash (images below). You’ll hear several tracks from Jory’s critically-acclaimed new CD Little Pilgrim and a variety of other great recent Canadian folk/roots spins, including music by Dave Gunning, Ariana Gillis and James Keelaghan. Plus, Sue Peters is back with Sue’s News, including New Year’s Resolutions by luminaries from the Canadian folk/roots scene.
On The Open Chord this week, Bill Garrett looks at some of the musicians that cut their teeth on the Ottawa folk scene, some gorgeous music from Ali Farka Touré and Ry Cooder, and new songs from Lucy Kaplansky, John Wort Hannam and Eliza Gilkyson.
