Roots Radio Thursday on RTDS – Dec 20
We’ve recently launched Roots Radio Thursday on Radio That Doesn’t Suck, three one-hour radio shows with a distinct Canadian folk/roots flavour. In addition, music played between airings of these shows is also largely Canadian folk/roots music.
Coming up this week:
At 1:00 PM, 7:00 PM and 11:00 PM EST, On The Songwriter’s Workshop with David Newland, Ian Tamblyn—songwriter, playwright, producer and adventurer—ponders Stan Rogers‘ ‘Northwest Passage’, previews an ode to A.Y. Jackson, performs a lament for a lost glacier, and praises the songs of Rodney Brown.
At 11:00 AM, 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM EST, Bill Garrett presents The Open Chord. This week, Bill Garrett checks out a new Jesse Winchester Tribute album as well as new music from Tannis Slimmon and Montreal’s Rob Lutes.
At 9:00 AM, 3:00 PM and 9:00 PM EST, The Andy Frank Show welcomes the scorching hot duo, Scarlett Jane, as its in-studio guest. You’ll hear three tracks from their double-CFMA-nominated CD Stranger. Plus, Andy spins songs from unreleased albums by Jay Aymar and Jadea Kelly, and Sue Peters drops in with news on a handful of Holiday Season events happening across Canada.
