Madison Violet live from Germany

Video streaming by Ustream

The duo of Brenley MacEachern and Lisa MacIsaac – Madison Violet – have been turning our ears for years. No one lives the musical life more fully, and few have shown more success while maintaining their artistic independence.

They’ve honed their songwriting and performing chops by touring and writing and performing relentlessly, and the results speak for themselves: John Lennon Songwriting Contest win for their track “The Ransom,” 2009 Canadian Folk Music Award for Vocal Group of the Year (we took a picture of the award in Brenley’s purse backstage), multiple East Coast Music Awards nominations and a 2010 JUNO Award for Roots & Traditional Album of the Year (Group).

Their latest album, The Good in Goodbye, on True North Records is a pearl of an album—it made my personal ‘Top 10’ picks of 2011 for Penguin Eggs magazine’s Album of the Year poll.

When we heard Madison Violet would be streaming a concert from Unna, Germany, Saturday, May 5, we were delighted to share the experience with our audience.

Thanks for showing your support for some of Canada’s best, sharing their extraordinary gifts with the world.
