Music for the healing journey

Our friend and Executive Producer, Andy Frank is facing a challenge right now, having learned that he has cancer of the colon. He’s inspiring everyone with his attitude, including his typically ‘frank’ writing on the subject on his blog, Cancer? My Arse!!

Roots Music Canada is holding an all-star benefit concert, Raise the Roof and Raise the Rent for Andy Frank!, at Hugh’s Room in Toronto on Thursday, January 26 to help Andy and his wife Helen through this difficult time. That event will also be webcast, here at Roots Music Canada, for those who can’t make the show.

The support from the musical community has been overwhelming – so much so, that we knew we had to do something more, to channel all that positive energy. We know there are many, many people dealing with cancer or other illnesses, and we are all hopeful that Andy’s journey can be an inspiration to others.

Our team assembled the “healing playlist” above, featuring songs from the many artists who rushed to offer their support when they learned of Andy’s illness. Just click to play, and please – let others know, using the ‘share’ feature, that they can listen and enjoy too.

Here’s who you’ll hear:
Jay Aymar, Jon Brooks, Amy Campbell, Craig Cardiff, Shawna Caspi, Bill Colgate, Kev Corbett, Joanne Crabtree, David Essig, Stephen Fearing, Aengus Finnan, David Francey, Marianne Girard, Dala , Howard Gladstone, Eve Goldberg, Michael Griffin, Marie-Lynn Hammond, Layah Jane, Kirsten Jones, Peter Katz, Heather Katz, James Keelaghan, Grit Laskin, Treasa Levasseur, Dominic Mancuso, Harry Manx, Lynn Miles, Trevor Mills, Mae Moore, Jory Nash, David Newland, Sue and Dwight, Rosemary Phelan, Oliver Schroer, Tannis Slimmon, Rob Szabo, Ian Tamblyn, Oh Susanna, Peter Verity, Suzie Vinnick, Adam Warner, HOTCHA!, NLX

May the music, and the incredible show of support for Andy be an inspiration to anyone who’s on a healing journey!
