Good Lovelies launch
The Woodshed Sessions on RMC
Roots Music Canada (RMC) is thrilled to announce that the Good Lovelies, reigning Juno Award winners in the Roots Music category, will be the first guests on our groundbreaking new video-webcast series, The Woodshed Sessions, beginning Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at noon EST.
The Good Lovelies are releasing their new CD, Let The Rain Fall on February 22, and are touring Australia, UK and the USA in addition to conquering Canadian hearts again from coast to coast to coast.
The Woodshed Sessions, hosted by Roots Music Canada’s Editor-in-Chief David Newland, and produced by RMC’s Executive Producer Andy Frank, will air at rootsmusic.ca weekdays at noon EST, running for about 20 minutes per episode.
The show will feature guest artists in conversation on a wide range of subjects, including the craft of making music – after all, to woodshed is to practice a musical instrument.
Conversations will be followed by the performance of two or three songs by guests. All of the action will be captured with three television-standard cameras, and mixed live on site to give the viewer an intimate, up-close experience of the artists being showcased on The Woodshed Sessions.
Episodes will be rebroadcast from time to time, and most will eventually be available in podcast form, both in video and audio formats.
And yes, you’ve heard a lot about The Woodshed. But here’s the story behind the story of the shed that may make music media history.
