Matt Andersen’s Fabulous Winter of 2010

New Brunswick-born, Halifax-based bluesman Matt Andersen had himself a pretty good winter. A Blues competition in Memphis scored him some huge results, and he hung out at a little old sporting event in Vancouver, but heck, why write about it when Blues Doctor Julie Hill of CKLN’s Blue Remedy and Matt Andersen himself can tell you?

Matt also performed another number on the show; this next song, a co-write with harmonica maestro Mike Stevens, is called Devil’s Bride, from the CD Piggyback. You can also check out the song Matt played during the interview clip above on our Facebook Fan Page (what? You’re not a fan yet? Seriously??) It’s called Better Man Blues, from the CD Something In Between.

Matt Andersen plays Glenn Gould Studio, Monday, March 8, 2010 for lucky Toronto dwellers. Tix info here. He is on a crazy cross-Canada tour, surely swinging through a town near you. His website has all the details.

Matt has the blues deep in his soul. And he shares it with those who are willing to listen. I have had the good fortune to see him perform a few times…and will again on March 13th!
