Dave Carroll – United Breaks Guitars

In July 2009, Halifax’s Dave Carroll won the equivalent of a Canadian singer/songwriter’s Lotto Max; his video, United Breaks Guitars, went viral. Wildly viral. Millions and millions of views, three-hundred media interviews, and, according to Wikipedia, even the stock-market value of United Airlines reacted negatively within days of the song’s release.

One year later, life has changed dramatically for Dave Carroll; he is in high demand as a speaker at social media conferences such as Toronto’s Mesh (for example), sells more records, and is a household name.  Roots Music Canada’s David Newland caught up with Dave Carroll at a downtown Toronto pub prior to an east-coast-themed gig at which Carroll was invited to play.

United Breaks Guitars in now a trilogy, here are the three videos in order of release.
