We continue our Maple Blues Awards series as we approach the 13th annual event. The first video features multiple nominees Diana Braithwaite and Chris Whiteley in conversation with Maple Blues Awards co-host – and past recipient of the Blues With A Feeling lifetime achievement award – Danny Marks, and RMC’s Andy Frank.
In this video, Diana Braithwaite and Chris Whitely perform a delightful cover It Was A Sad Night In Harlem (Lewis-Kresa), a song made famous by Duke Ellington. This performance took place at Jazz FM 91, Toronto, Ontario, Canada on January 5, 2010, just ahead of the Maple Blues Awards, for which Chris and Diana share a total of four nominations.
The awards are taking place on Monday, January 18, 2010 at a spanking new venue, The Royal Conservatory’s Koerner Hall in downtown Toronto. Tickets range from $20 to $28 and can be purchased here,

HOW IS CHRIS DOING THAT!? We need to do an instructional for harp & guitar players on how to play the harmonica without the rack.
