The following information is gleaned from the complete surveys posted by Richard Gillmann found on his own website at http://www.nwfolk.com Richard cut off his albums list at 37 plays.

The date of release for particular albums and songs will have an impact on how much airplay they will attain in a given year. Some albums in the list below were released in the fall while others go back years, and in some cases, decades. Stan Rogers‘ “Between The Breaks…Live!” has appeared on this list for nine years and many others have appeared several times.

The following albums by Canadian performers received the most airplay on Folkdj-l in 2009. As might be expected, these albums feature many of the songs in the top song list to follow.

“What I Know” by Tom Rush was the #1 international album with 411 plays. The Wailin’ Jennys‘ “Live At The Mauch Chunk Opera House” came in at #10 on the international list.

Albums noted with a * after the number of plays, appeared on last year’s list.
